PhysiotherapyEvery client admitted to Haven Bay nursing home will undergo a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment on admission. Collaboration with other agencies and ongoing consultation with the client and the multi disciplinary team will ensure care goals are set and personalised treatment programmes are established.
Our physiotherapist, also a qualified manual handling instructor, will assess and advise on all manual handling issues, identifying potential risks and demonstrate the safest use of equipment and mobility aids.
The location of a Doctors’ surgery on site with regular medical rounds ensures the holistic medical and rehabilitative management of clients facilitating a return to independence. |
Catriona Monkhouse MISCP BSc (Hons)
Catriona graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2006, receiving the Greater Glasgow Health Board Prize for the highest clinical and academic performance in her graduating class. She has spent the last 2 years in Ireland working primarily in care of the elderly and neurology in a variety of setting including both the acute hospital setting and nursing homes.
Her post graduate studies include completion of a manual handling instructor’s course, enabling Catriona to deliver training to all Haven Bay staff and ensure correct implementation of client handling techniques within the home.
