Helen O Regan, Operations Manager FCA, Diploma in People Management
Helen is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years experience in senior finance roles both in Ireland and overseas. She has gained extensive experience in a range of industries including information technology, outsourcing and manufacturing. Prior to becoming involved with Haven Bay she was a member of the senior management team in a large Cork nursing home. Helen has been with Haven Bay since inception. Since then, Helen has, in partnership with the owners and staff, worked hard to implement systems and procedures to make this a nursing home of the highest quality standards. She works closely with the HSE and other health care organisations to ensure that Haven Bay is at the forefront of residential care. Continuous improvement programs for all areas of the business are high on Helen’s agenda..
Yvonne McCarthy, Director of Care RN, DipN, BSc(Hons), MSc, Dip Management & Employee Relations
Yvonne completed her nurse training over 20 years ago in London. Her background includes managing Nursing Homes for over 10 years and has much experience and a keen interest in improving the life of older people in Residential Care. Following her qualification as a Staff Nurse, Yvonne continued her education gaining a Diploma in Nursing from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She then completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters in Communications. Recently she completed a Diploma in Management and Employee Relations. Yvonne joined Haven Bay Care Centre as Director of Care in July 2010. More importantly than Yvonnes impressive list of Professional qualifications is her warmness and caring character which typifies the care offered at Havenbay Nursing Home. Yvonne leads by example with her dedicated Staff.
Raquel Yap, RGN Clinical Nurse Manager
Raquel has been nursing in Ireland since 2001. She has worked in a number of Corks leading care of the older adult facilities, most recently occupying a Clinical Nurse Managers post. Raquel is a popular member of staff, known for her gentleness and clinical expertise.
Our Care Team
Care staff at Haven Bay bring a variety of skills and expertise to the Centre. From working as home helps to experience in art therapy and dementia care, all staff employed have a history of working in the caring industry. All staff employed at Haven Bay are given a comprehensive induction program and Manual Handling training to ensure best practice is initiated at the outset. Staff are introduced to policies and procedures from the outset and an excellence of care is standard at Haven Bay. Staff are supported and encouraged in further education and training on such topics as Tissue Viability, Infection Control, Nutrition and Dietetics and age appropriate Activity planning.
