Anne was thrilled with the personal message sent by the President which wished Anne well and congratulated her warmly on becoming a centenarian. Anne was presented with flowers and received many cards and other gifts. Anne was particularly thrilled with the presentation gift from Haven Bay Care Centre a framed memento of the Irish Examiner 100 years ago to the day, and was bemused by some of the adverts from the birthday edition. Daphne then read from Anne’s life story which was fascinating and was an honour for everyone to listen to.
Chef Marek baked the most delicious cake and the catering team prepared sumptuous canapés. Everyone sang Happy Birthday on not one but three occasions! We wish Anne all our best wishes on this memorable day.
